About This Event
The HVFD Bathtub Races were a popular event in years past, and they are being brought back for the Hooper 150th Celebration.
Teams will race a cast iron clawfoot bathtub mounted on a golf cart chassis through a timed figure-eight course. The same tub will be used by all teams.
How the Race Works
Each team will consist of 3–4 people. One team member will ride in the tub while the remaining team members push.
The race begins with the tub filled to the top with water. Teams will push the tub around cones through a figure-eight course to the far end, where they must stop inside a marked area.
The person riding in the tub will then attempt to shoot 3 basketballs into a 55-gallon barrel. After the shot attempt, the team will push the tub around the remainder of the figure-eight course and stop inside the marked area.
The fastest time will win. Points will be added based on the number of baskets made, and points will be deducted based on the amount of water lost from the tub.

Registration will also be available at the time of the event. Teams will be required to sign a liability release before participating.
